Ashley Young will not be able to play for Manchester United in the upcoming match against Fulham which will be played at Craven Cottage on Saturday. Young had injured his knee in United’s home game against Liverpool on 13th of January and has not featured for United since then.

Another United player, Jonny Evans had also injured his hamstring in the same match, but, the good news for the United fans is that Evans will start training today and he might feature against Fulham on Saturday.

Talking to the reporters about the fitness of Young and Evans, Sir Alex Ferguson said, “Young is not fit, but, the good news for us is that Jonny Evans has recovered from his injury now and he would take part in the training session today. His return would strengthen the defense of the team.”

When asked how important the match against Fulham is, Ferguson said, “Every game is important from now on. It’s a critical stage of the competition. We need to avoid complacency and show full intensity on the ground.”
“Every match should be treated in the same manner. We need to put in a bit of extra effort against every opposition now. We will have to make sure that we don’t lose the plot from this stage.”

When asked about the performance of Fulham in the last match against West Ham United, Ferguson said, “They played well in the last match. That was a dominating performance by them for sure. But, when we had faced them last week, we had defeated them quite convincingly. So, they would be under a bit of pressure.”

Manchester United had taken on Fulham in a FA Cup match on 26th of January and had won that match easily by 4-1.
