Ashley Young returned to Villa this summer after several years playing for clubs such as Manchester United and Italian champions Inter Milan. New Aston Villa summer signing Ashley Young is yet to make an appearance for the club this season after re-joining them this summer. The former England international star completed a return to Villa Park after a successful stint in Italy with Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan during which he won the league title with the Nerazzurri. Young was formerly an Aston Villa player but was eventually sold to Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson was still the manager of the Red Devils. He enjoyed a successful stint at Old Trafford and won a couple of tiptoes during the period when Manchester United were a force to reckon with.

 

He became surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after Olé Gunnar Solksjaer was appointed as the club’s new manager following the sacking of José Mourinho. Following the transfer of playmaker Jack Grealish from Aston Villa to Manchester City this summer, there have been questions raised about whether the club would be able to cope well without their talisman captain. Ashley Young completed a move to his boyhood club, Watford, after a successful spell with Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A but recent reports have revealed that Watford were not the only side that were trying to sign him this summer. Former Manchester United defender Ashley Young recently sealed a return to English football after re-joining Watford, one of the former clubs he played for before sealing his big move to Old Trafford a lot of years ago. The former England international star was initially signed as a winger by former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson but he was gradually converted to a defender after spending some years at the club. Young was a decent attacker during the early years of his career and also played for Aston Villa but with United having a lot of attackers in their team, he had to settle for a different role just so he could continue playing games.
