Ashley Young Nearing Exit From Inter Milan Ahead Of The Summer

Inter Milan right-back Ashley Young is reportedly nearing an exit from the club and is already a transfer target to a couple of clubs across Europe, in China, and in the Major League Soccer. The former England and Manchester United star has continued to fall further down the pecking order at the club especially with Achraf Hakimi not looking like he will be slowing down anytime soon.

Hakimi completed a permanent transfer from Real Madrid last summer and has cemented himself as Inter Milan’s first-choice right-back since his permanent move, making it very difficult for Young to find his way to the first-team. Young is already getting closer to 35 and is currently being deemed surplus to requirements by manager Antonio Conte who reportedly no longer wants the former Aston Villa man to continue at Inter when his current deal expires this summer.

The signing of Hakimi was a great move by Inter who were already preparing for life after Young, and the move has been very much justified following how the former Borussia Dortmund defender has been consistent with delivering the goods under Conte this season.

Hakimi has pace, has age on his side, is pretty much skillful, has good crossing skills, and has an eye for goal. These characteristics are what make up a modern day right-back and are also not complete in Young, making it very easy to invest a lot of trust in the young Moroccan defender for years to come.

A couple of clubs in the Major League Soccer including the likes of New York Red Bulls, Inter Miami, Los Angeles Galaxy, and New York City Football Club have all registered an interest in Young and he may well seal a move to the United States in the summer.
