The England international made the move to the Nerazzurri from Manchester United on a six-month deal in January with the option for another year, should he impress.

Young has certainly done so during his eight appearances for the Nerazzurri, where he has registered one goal and one assist and Ausilio has now confirmed that he will stay put with the club for the 2020/21 campaign. Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has spoken about what are the differences in captaincy between former captain Ashley Young and reigning captain Harry Maguire. After the departure of Young to Inter Milan back in January, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to give Maguire the captaincy. After struggling for consistency in the first half of the campaign, United showed a lot of improvement after January. The club were even in the bottom half of the table at one point in the campaign, but they have been able to go through a remarkable 11 game unbeaten run that has put them within touching distance of Chelsea in the fourth place.

Shaw claims that Maguire had a positive influence on the squad in such a way that he has brought them together in the times of difficulties. Young was more of a captain who gained the armband as a senior member of the squad and someone who had been at United for a long time. Despite coming into the club only recently, Maguire has been able to make himself stand out from the crowd with some brilliant performances. All these have earned him a great respect amongst his peers, which have helped him captain the squad. However, Luke Shaw also said that Young tried his best to make sure that United got the best results.

Inter Milan defender Ashley Young is likely to stay with the Italian club even for the next campaign. The 35-year-old made the switch to the Italian outfit back in January and he was just looking to get a place in his new team before the coronavirus pandemic the season to a halt.Even though he has spent only a couple of weeks playing under Antonio Conte,Young seems to have impressed the manager sufficiently in such a way that a contract extension may be on the way.

Inter and all other football clubs are in doubt about the future owing to the season being suspended in the middle. Furthermore, there is expected to be a lot of disruption to the football’s financial world since many TV companies will be asking for a refund from the TV money. This is expected to lower the financial income for clubs and teams may be forced to retain the current options before the world starts to recover. Even though Young was signed only in January, he was expected to be a stopgap for the Italian outfit before they bring in Emerson Palmieri or Marcos Alonso from Chelsea. Both have been dissatisfied with life at Stamford Bridge and they are keen for a move.

Perhaps you could say it’s a dream of mine that is not yet a reality. Day after day I try to improve my finishing, it is very important in modern football. It takes hard work, I know, but I will try to improve little by little and now I am taking great care. In recent years I have felt more and more confident.”

Manchester United favourite Dimitar Berbatov believes the Red Devils should avoid the signing of Erling Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg, given they have sufficient options for the centre-forward role. The Red Devils have experienced a mixed campaign by their standards but their front displays have been consistent with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood in the goals.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Berbatov acknowledged that Haaland has the talent to develop into a top-class footballer but the Red Devils don’t necessarily need another striker in their ranks. He added that Martial and Rashford have shown plenty of promise this term and the club should look to groom them into world class players rather than purchasing another player from the transfer market.

Manchester United captain Ashley Young has praised Marcus Rashford as a world-class talent and believes the forward’s style of play can frighten the opposition. The England international has been the standout performer for the Red Devils this term and he has already amassed 12 goals from just 20 appearances this term.

Rashford has only managed 13 goals during each of his past two seasons for the Red Devils but he appears on course to break that tally with more than half of the campaign remaining. Speaking to Sky Sports, Young was full of praise for his compatriot and said that there is plenty to come from the versatile forward, who he deems as a world-class player.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has said that Marcus Rashford must improve on the positioning in the box in order to become a top-class striker for Manchester United. The England international started the season on a high with a brace against Chelsea but he has since gone six games without finding the net.

This has already led to criticism from the supporters with some indicating that the 21-year-old may need to be dropped from the starting XI altogether. Speaking on Sky Sports, Shearer said that he has some sympathy for the United graduate, who has been struggling with the end product since the curtain-raiser against Chelsea.

TalkSPORT pundit Danny Mills has said that Mauricio Pochettino would be the perfect fit for the rebuilding project at Manchester United and he is surprised that the Red Devils did not approach for the Tottenham Hotspur boss earlier this year. The Red Devils have made an average beginning to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they have accumulated just eight points after the opening six league games.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Mills said that Solskjaer may not be the right candidate for the rebuilding job, considering he has not managed a top club with success prior to joining the Red Devils. He added that Pochettino could be tempted by the Red Devils job in the future and he is surprised why the Mancunian giants did not pursue the Argentine prior to the rebuilding job this summer.Continue reading

Former England international Stan Collymore believes Marcus Rashford faces the risk of becoming the modern-day Theo Walcott, given he has yet to establish himself at a particular role. The Manchester United striker has regularly swapped between the wider and central forward positions for club and country and Collymore feels the 21-year-old should master one role sooner rather than later.

In a report covered by The Mirror, he told: “If Rashford isn’t careful then, sooner rather than later, he is going to find himself cast as the modern-day Theo Walcott. Someone who isn’t seen as an out-and-out winger or straight-up No.9 but a Jack of all trades as a forward and master of none. “That’s why now is the perfect time for him to decide whether that’s the way he wants to go. Or would he rather be a player who lives or dies as a No.9.”

Rashford started the season for United on the left side of the attack but he has recently returned to the centre-forward role following a thigh injury for Anthony Martial. The attacker has been rewarded with multiple opportunities to find the net but he has been average with the end product which has meant that he has drawn blank during the past three games.

The Red Devils return from the international break with a home game against Leicester City and Rashford may once again lead the attack. The Mancunian giants have accumulated just five points from the opening four league matches and they surely need to step up this weekend in order to avoid dropping down the table.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are presently seven points behind Liverpool at the top of the table. However, their main should remain the Champions League places and they are currently trailing fourth-placed Crystal Palace by a couple of points.
