Manchester United ace Ashley Young has backed Marcus Rashford to become one of the world’s best after finding the consistency upfront under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The England international has been in-and-out of the starting lineup over the past two years under ex-boss Jose Mourinho but his fortunes have changed since Solskjaer took over the reigns on a temporary basis.

Speaking on MUTV, Young hailed the immense potential of his compatriot and stated that the 21-year-old has the perfect platform to learn from one of United’s favourite forward in yesteryear in Solskjaer. He added that the youngster has the burning desire to impress even on the training field and that should hold well in his progress for the forthcoming years.

Manchester United ace Ashley Young has heaped praise on the way Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has worked with the players since taking charge of the club on the interim basis. The Norwegian was surprisingly handed the managerial role after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal last month but he has since answered his critics by guiding the team to four-straight league wins.

This has already brought about a positive reaction from a number of players within the United squad and Young joined in the act of approval saying: “I don’t think he (Solskjaer) has stopped smiling. He was like that as a player. He always has a smile on his face and I think that can reflect down on to the team, which is a good thing.Ole has come in and we were preparing in the right way for a game, even though it’s been a crazy week.”

Manchester United star Ashley Young has spoken positively about the progress of Diogo Dalot since his summer move from Porto. The Portuguese was the Red Devils’ second signing of the previous transfer window after arriving from Lisbon, but he had to wait until September to make his debut as he was still recovering from a surgery on a knee problem picked up at his former side.

Speaking to United’s official website, Young said that the youngster took some time to be integrated into the setup but he has since adjusted to the first-team surroundings with ease. He added to praise the short-term impact from the Portuguese, who has impressed with the initial impression on either side of the field.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Romelu Lukaku must provide more on the playing field, if he is to cement his position as the Red Devils’ number one striker. The Belgian was recently dropped from the starting lineup for the 2-1 triumph over Everton but in the weekend after, he found himself injured to face Bournemouth where United won by the same scoreline.

In both of those games, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez fared much better in terms of their movement and link-up play despite failing to score and Ferdinand feels Lukaku may need to bring much more than his goalscoring to cement the striker’s position for the long-term, he told BT Sport: “You look at Lukaku. Lukaku’s goalscoring record is up there, it’s fantastic, he scores goals.

England international Ashley Young is reportedly said to want a two-year contract with Manchester United which would keep him at the club until the age of 35. The attacker has transformed himself into a quality full-back over the past 18 months but his future with the club has been called into question with his current contract expiring at the end of the campaign.

According to The Sun, the 33-year-old is awaiting discussion over a new contract with United after proving a quality player under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. United have generally offered only one-year deals to players above the age of 30 but Young is hoping that the club buck the trend and issue him a two-year contract just like Marouane Fellaini during the summer.

Manchester United defender Ashley Young has expressed a sense of disappointment after the Red Devils suffered an abysmal 3-1 Premier League defeat at the hands of West Ham United on Saturday. The Red Devils had come into the game on the back of two winless matches across all competitions and they were pegged back within the opening five minutes with Felipe Anderson finding the scoresheet.

Thereafter, a deflected Andriy Yarmolenko shot doubled the scores for the Hammers but there appeared a comeback on the cards after Marcus Rashford found the net for United following the break. However, their optimism was shortlived with Marko Arnautovic bagging the third goal for the Hammers just minutes after Rashford’s strike.

Veteran Manchester United fullback Ashley Young has admitted that the side deserved to lose in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.  The Red Devils lost via a penalty shootout to Derby County (admittedly after 15 consecutive penalties had been scored).

England manager Gareth Southgate has praised Manchester United defender Luke Shaw after he was drafted into the squad for the forthcoming set of internationals. The Red Devils left-back failed to make the Three Lions squad for the summer World Cup after an average 2017/18 season but he has since impressed in the United colours to earn a comeback.

Speaking to reporters, Southgate admitted that the Englishman had gone through a difficult period with injuries but he has been picked after making a strong start to the current campaign, he said: “He has had a difficult period in terms of adapting to a new club. A horrendous injury he had to overcome. I’m really impressed with the physical condition that he is in.He had an extra edge to his game in the last couple of matches I’ve seen. He’s shown an aggression to his play, a desire not to lose. Back to his powerful best.”

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has challenged Ashley Young to return early from his holiday amid the ongoing injury concerns on the right side of the defence. United were already without summer signing Diogo Dalot due to a knee injury and their woes has further increased with captain Antonio Valencia sustaining a calf problem.

Speaking in a news conference, Mourinho highlighted that the club may require Young earlier from his vacation to take up the right-back duties, considering Matteo Darmian has already made his mind up to leave the club, he said: “Ashley Young is a possibility to play at right-back. He is on holiday and I don’t know if he fancies being back before that to put himself available for the team – or if he prefers to stay on holiday. Darmian wants to leave and I think when a player wants to leave if the right offer arrives you have to be human and let the player follow his instincts, but not at any price. “Until now the offers we have got for Matteo are not even close to being accepted.”

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s club-record move to Juventus could be considered as the complete transfer. The Bianconeri acquired the services of Ronaldo on a four-year deal from Real Madrid earlier this week and Mourinho feels the Serie A holders will benefit heavily in both the footballing and marketing department with the Portuguese around.

We see three dimensional football. Everyone will look to Italy for Cristiano, to Spain for [Lionel] Messi and England for the Premier League. At this time, Serie A has become the most important championship in the world. Everything can change in football, the prospects of teams like Inter, Milan and Roma now change, and now Juve is much stronger with Cristiano. They are more motivated by the signing, they are contributing to the quality, attention and excitement of Serie A. For this reason, I congratulate to Juventus for this coup, which involves football, marketing and merchandising. It’s the complete transfer,” he told Teleradiostereo.
