England international Ashley Young has been left unimpressed by Manchester United’s season and believes there is plenty of room for improvement prior to the 2018/19 campaign. The Red Devils are currently in need of another four points to assure themselves of the runner-spot and they can then switch their focus to the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Despite this, they have been far off from competing with Manchester City for the Premier League crown and Young believes the club were made to pay for their mistakes during the festive period, in particular, he told ESPN: “It has been one of those seasons when around Christmas we were drawing games, late goals against us, and when you look back at those kind of games then you think the season could have been different. It wasn’t meant to be but we have put down a marker against the top-four, top-six clubs, but it is more than that. We have to win at other clubs as well.
