Ashley Young was left on the bench for the whole duration of the game as his Aston Villa side were beaten at Arsenal in a Premier League encounter played on Friday night.

Young watched on from the bench as Villa made it three successive league defeatsat Arsenal. Villa had been beaten by Tottenham Hotspur (2-1) away from home and Wolves (3-2) at home in their last two matches in the Premier League before the Arsenal game.
Thomas Parteythreatened the Villa goal when the Ghanaian midfielder hit the post with a quickly taken shot in the box. Moments later, Partey gave Arsenal the lead via a header midway into the first half. The Gunners doubled their advantage at the end of the first half through Gabonese international skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang who scored from close range with the rebound after he had his penalty saved by Villa shot stopper Emiliano Martinez. Villa defender Matt Targett was the man penalised for the penalty via VAR after Alexandre Lacazette was fouled in the box.
Emile Smith-Rowe was one of the best players on the pitch and he scored the third Arsenal goal on 56 minutes. Smith-Rowe was also responsible for the corner kickthat led tothe first goal from Partey.
Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey started the Arsenal game just like Ashley Young and he came off the bench to score the only goal of the game for his team but it was not enough to prevent defeat for his team.
