YOUNG REPORTEDLY CLOSE TO JOINING WATFORD THIS SUMMER

Former Manchester United defender Ashley Young is reportedly a serious transfer target for English club Watford. The former England international star is also a former Watford player and he is now wanted by the club he played for before joining the Red Devils some years ago under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. Although he is currently at current Italian Serie A Champions Inter Milan, Young has reportedly signaled his interest in returning to his boyhood club.

Many would wonder why Young would be showing interest in returning to Watford when he could continue to live on the Great career he has started already in Italy, but it is reportedly a personal decision from the player. Several reports recently disclosed that Inter offered Young a fresh one-year contract extension for him to continue his stay at the club but he is already well aware that he would not be the first-choice option at right-back as the position is currently owned by Achraf Hakimi, who is also being strongly linked with a move away from the Milan giants.

Young could be tempted by the chance of becoming a regular starter at Watford, as against the bit-part role he will be restricted to at Inter Milan. If all the details are finalized in the coming days, Young could be unveiled as a new Watford player before the end of June. Also, if the former Red Devil completes transfer away from Italy, the Azurri are expected to start looking for potential players they can sign as a replacement for the Englishman.

Inter could also be forced to be in the market for as many as two right-backs just in case Hakimi seals a transfer away from the league champions. Either way, it’s set to be a busy window for Inter.
